FAKTA UMNO (LAMA) & UMNO (BARU) -
INI PUN SEJARAH JUGA - IT'S HISTORY ALSO - NO DOUBT ABOUT IT
A cousin of mine, who is in his early 20 put up an excellent argument about UMNO's demand for the rakyat to always remember and be thankful for the "merdeka" that was delivered by UMNO. His argument was "haven't we, Malaysian, shown enough gratitude and thankfulness to UMNO and it's leader for giving us merdeka in letting them rule us for half a century? All those leaders who fought for independence was revered, honored and placed in power. They are now dead but not forgotten."
And then he added a pertinent question to the NEW crop of UMNO leaders' "And why should we owe a debt of gratitude for the "post merdeka" UMNO leaders whose contribution to the country is corruption and mismanagement? WE have already shown our gratitude to our Bapa Kemerdekaan, Bapa Pembangunan dan Bapa Penyatuan. We would be stupid and worse, insane to feel gratitude to leaders who are corrupt, selfish, greedy, egomaniac, inept and who are good for nothing to this nation of ours!" Gratitude should be showered to those who deserved it and clearly the current crop of UMNO leaders (going back 3 decades ago till now) doesn't deserve it. So we, Malaysian are left with only one choice and that is "ANYTHING BUT UMNO OR ASALKAN BUKAN UMNO (ABU)!"

P.s - UMNO baru was never the continuation of the old UMNO. We can see this clearly when TDM assume the 000001 membership number of UMNO Baru. So in fact Dato' Onn, TAR, TR and THO was never made a member of UMNO Baru, even posthumously. By usurping the title of the 1st member of UMNO Baru, TDM has literally severed the connection between the old UMNO and the UMNO Baru. There was only one UMNO in Malaysia and just like arwah P. Ramlee, both are dead and buried.
